Are you a professional home inspector, remodeler, contractor, insurance adjustor, or even home buyer looking to use thermography for residential or commercial inspection purposes? Our Home and Building Certification course is aimed at teaching students the knowledge necessary to perform IR investigations of single, multifamily, and commercial buildings. The use of infrared technology is being quickly adopted for the detection of HVAC deficiencies, air leakage, moisture damage, missing insulation, and the effects of weatherization on a buildings structure.

This 4 day certification course will challenge a student to use critical thinking to correctly diagnose structural and mechanical deficiencies using infrared as well as other testing methods. In addition to camera operation techniques, attendees will be taught environment condition considerations and also how to generate professional looking report to provide customers.

Course Objectives

Learning objectives, contact hours, and written exam are based on requirements outlined by ANSI/ASNT CP-105 and CP-189 of the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing. This course also meets the requirements of a Level I course toward Certification under the RESNET IR Interim Guidelines Method 1.
